Camp Staff

 

The staff at Joseph Pfeifer Kiwanis Camp consists of four basic groups of employees and volunteers.

• Permanent staff - those who work year round at the camp.  This includes the director, assistant director, program staff, nurse, teachers, cook, and maintenance personnel.

 

• AmeriCorps staff - those who volunteer through the AmeriCorps program to give a year of their time to serve the community.  These volunteers live in the cabins with the campers, perform many tasks, and provide excellent services.

 

• Summer Counselors - these are primarily young people willing to work eight weeks in the summer as counselors to the summer camp youth.  Many of them are former campers who are too old to be campers.

 

• C. I. T.'s - Counselor's in Training provide very beneficial service to the camp.  These volunteers are between ages 14 and 17 and are previous campers who have shown themselves to be dependable and willing to work.  They serve as assistants to the summer counselors, work in the kitchen, arts and crafts, games, and the cabins.
